End of 2012

Not as smooth sailing as I thought it would be. But I dont regret making any of my decisions. So that's good I guess. Hopefully it'll be a better year next year.

Walked past the fire station yesterday and decided to take some pictures. Baby and I ended up sitting on the floor at some point just to get a right angle. And strangers keep staring(its either because we're hindering their way or its not normal to sit right in the middle of nowhere to take pictures or maybe both). But whatever because...YOLO



Bricks

Roamed around bugis with baby last week. Nope, not the bugis street area but the market area on the other side of bugis. Yknow that area where the temple is situated..yea that. Kinda like that place, so traditional and..underrated. k at least i think it is haha.

Back alleys

Joo chiat with baby and rachel to accompany baby for a job interview.

Impromptu photoshoot with baby in the back alleys of bungalows and old shop houses.
Then some tea and macarons afterwards. It was a good evening.

Birthday

I dont know why this is slanted when its not supposed to be cos it isnt before i uploaded it.

So anyway im 17. Spent the night before my birthday celebrating with my homies at marche.

Put the bad luck aside, i think im damn blessed. While other people are struggling with bad stabbing shit by their friends, my friends are planning a surprise for me despite some having tests the next day.

At first when i saw this collection in knightbridge topshop on saturday, i thought nothing of it. But today i chanced upon this collection on the web and on a closer look, i love it. The front of the short white dress is so sweet but the back of it is just wild. Like a badass angel. Cant keep my eyes off it. Sooo sexy.

Toby's with yui on saturday to visit baby and do work at the same time. Reached there 5 mins after 3pm. By right the brunch timing had alr passed but terrence made an exception for me. So happy when baby passed me my eggs royale. Have been craving for smoked salmon ever since that day at holland v. The avocado and smoked salmon sandwich was so good. But poached eggs and smoked salmon makes a good combi as well^.^ Sat down and did some work while waiting for baby to knock off before we roamed around in town. Toby didnt charge me for my mocha again that day. Was happy but at the same time felt rlly bu-hao-yi-si sigh. <3

My 80's inspired sporty look hahaha.Holland V with baby and rachel on sat for brunch. It was my first time going there and honestly, i was quite disappointed. Expected more out of holland v. Or maybe we didnt go at the right time. When we reached there, the brunch hour was over and many of the good restaurants were closed.

With baby who doesnt eat jap food and rachel who doesnt eat anything with 4 legs, it was really hard to find a restaurant that could cater to our tastebuds. Thankfully, baby managed to find a cafe-cartel alike restaurant so we settled down there.

Service was not really good but was pretty satisfied with the food.
Ordered Avocado w smoked salmon sandwich and earl grey latte.

Sounds good right. Im hungry already.



Unicorns do exist

Im going to convince you with
3 reasons why they may exist

1) They are shy. Hence, they dont show themselves. But that doesnt mean they dont exist right?

2) There are still many unexplored area on earth. For example, some parts of the amazon basin, the republic of congo and the east of kalimantan. Just to name a few. Hence no one knows whats in there unless they explore them but sometimes they cant cos the area is too inaccessible. And thats one of the reason why unicorns love forest, especially cloud forest. Cloud forests are like a higher version of rainforests. They are generally 1000 to 3000 meters above the sea level. Due to the altitude, moisture from the cloud condenses as it touches the tree top and forms tiny droplets. Hence, precipiation is frequent in a cloud forest. Also as a result, rainbows are often formed in the process.
There's nowhere more suitable for a unicorn to live in. And that is why unicorns are hardly seen anywhere now. They are deep in the cloud forest enjoying pcokets of sunshine and rainbows. (And that is why people always associate unicorns with rainbows. )

3) If there are signs of bigfoot and yeti existing(or existed), why not unicorns? In 1973, Dr. Olfert Dapper saw a wild unicorn in a woods. He's a writer and geographer from amsterdam. He wrote books about persia, africa, india and many more eventhough he have never been to those places. But, that doesnt mean his books are unreliable. Till this day, his book "description of africa" is still used by africanist. I dont know how dapper managed to write a book on africa without visiting that place and why a specialist used his book to study africa but since this really took place, means he's actually quite accurate and trustworthy right? Unicorns were also reported to exist in india,africa, france and china during the middle ages. Nothing.is.not.possible. Besides, its just a horse with a horn on its head right.

Actually. im just doing this out of fun. You dont have to take me seriously if you think unicorns don't exist

Decided to go for the Marcellie 2012 fashion last minute last friday.
Thank god i went cos the show was good. I think it was a great platform for local designers to showcase their pieces and do charity at the same time. So inspiring to see people coming together to do something for the society.

Was really lazy last last friday but dont wanna be underdress for town with baby so paired a jeans with a grey tank. Dont wanna look too simple either so decided to wear high socks with jeans.
 Spent the whole afternoon at Toby's chilling and eating good food by the river. Toby's has really good mocha. It was the best mocha i've had so far.
Super rich and chocolatey but not toooo chocolatey. Cant really decribe it well haha but its just really good. And best part is, nisa didnt charge me for it. ^.^

Pig out day

The original plan today was to just meet jin and chill in awfully chocolate in katong but the chilling plan kinda failed because we got sick of the cakes even before we can finish them so we decided to walk around instead. Then somehow, we ended up in astons and yknow what happened after that..we continue to eat. Hope this girl's application for SIM will get through so we can study again together.

Overall, its some good catching up done. I wish i can have more of this kinda afternoon, just eat and chill and continue eating, but nuuuu there's so many never-ending assignments to be done.

P.s: And after I reached home I had one more packet of chicken rice with extra chicken. I love Food.

Failed memory

I'll always have problems dragging myself out of bed every morning to prepare for 9am classes.

Today was no exception. So after econs class, i decided to headed to the library to study then take a nap before attending the ba lecture. Unfortunately, there were some incosiderate people who were so noisy that i didnt manage to nap. In the end, my inner sloth got the better out of me so i decided to go home instead.

And guess what, when i reached my doorstep, i couldnt find my keys in every(2 only actually)compartment of my bag so i sat on my doorstep and started doing my pom while waiting for mom to come back. Halfway through, i dozed off and woke up and sometimes stoned at the clouds before dozing off again.

I cant help but think about life again while stoning. Sometimes I feel really tired trying to keep up with everything that is happening around me. Im afraid if im a step slower, i might be left behind.

Thank god its cloudy and a little windy today if not i would've shrivelled on the floor like a blind raisin.  

Pretty glad that im done with most of my assignments and i love my socks. And my girl guides boots haha.  

Harry Potter's exhibition

The harry potter exhibition was amazing. I was impressed by how they managed to transform the area into what it was like in the movies. The most memorable one was hagrid's hut. The huge armchair thats too big for anyone but Hagrid, the table with the golden egg and those wooven cages that were hung around the diameter of the hut, I felt like i was in the movie!(jk but you get my drift)

 Another one would be umbridge's pink wall.

I was standing in front of the piece of paper that harry wrote "I must not tell lies" on and immediately without thinking, I asked tuck and rachel, "so is that daniel radcliffe's handwritting?" and they said yea and for the first time, I felt damn close to daniel radcliffe because I was looking at his handwriting hahahah. Oh, and not forgetting, Hermoine's gown for the yule ball. Man, it was gorgeous. Not the trendy red carpet kind but yet its full of elegance.

Throughout the whole tour, I felt a little down because the exhibition kinda reminds me of how harry potter have really ended. But then again, it may get crappy if it doesnt end. Good things don't last. So oh well.
It was definitely worth $20. I wanted to get a gryffindor's hoodie but I just cant bear to part with my 60 bucks(kids sized) so in the end i didnt. Though i didnt get the hoodie, I brought home with me two packets of chocolate frog. I find chocolate more appealing to me in the shape of a frog ironically.
And the best part of the chocolate frog is...each packet comes with 1 collectible card!
 So im actually planning to get more packets so I can collect more cards.(geek mode:On)

"Garden in a bottle"

Headed down to Changi city point today to give the ec juniors a support because they got into the finals of the NYBC(national youth business competition) and thus had a booth there.

Janis and I didnt know that the terrariums that they made were so popular that they were already earning a profit by mid afternoon!

Other than East Spring, many other schools were there as well and I must say the things that they were selling were really creative. For example, pencilcase made out of plastic bottles and wallets made out of magazines with pretty models on it.

Was really tempted to get the wallet because there was a pretty girl on it but i decided not to in the end because i didnt get any terrariums from the east spring booth. If i didnt let my own school earn, how can i let other school earn and up their chance of winning right?

Anyway, it was so heartwarming to see the ec juniors working hard to achieve something, for the school and the club, together. Hopefully they will win the competition but if they don't, I will still be very proud of them ^.^
